I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would gladly return and recommend. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind as almost each day we would exchange few words and I really appreciated it :) The breakfast selection was excellent, with plenty of choice, it was the perfect start to each exploring day! The location of the Hotel is great near shops, great restaurants, bars, and venues for concerts. It made exploring the area incredibly convenient. The room was comfortable and well-kept and the presence of a gym in the hotel was an added bonus. The overall vibe of the hotel was warm, inviting, and thoughtfully put together with a nice art selection both in the Hotel and in the room. I really appreciated how easy it was to book excursions directly through the Hotel website; it made planning activities smooth and stress-free. In short, this hotel combines excellent service, comfort, and convenience in a way that really stands out. Highly recommended!

I stayed at Local 101 for four nights in Reykjavik and it was a great decision. The room was clean and had a small terrace where I could see sun rise and set as well as fireworks on the last day of 2025, all from the comfort of my room without going downtown. Breakfast was lovely! Especially the croissants and having coffee available downstairs at all times was perfect after returning from tours in the cold weather. The staff were very friendly and informative throughout my stay. Highly recommended!

This was an excellent little Hotel in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. The lobby is incredible inviting, the rooms are clean and comfortable (although small), and the complimentary breakfast was phenomenal (it actually might be the star). With food cost being so high in Iceland- a super great buffet breakfast is ideal! Add to that that the hotel is like 5 mins to the stores/sights in the city centre, that the staff is super caring, and that the amenities in the room were great- and you’ve got a wonderful deal! And did I mention the reasonable price per night? A steal of a deal!
