The visit was a thoroughly satisfying dining experience from start to finish. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared rather than just “premium” in name only. The char grilled octopus was tender and well‑seasoned, with a beautiful balance of char and freshness that set the tone for the meal. The duck fat fried potato galette was a standout side: crisp on the outside, soft and layered inside, and rich without feeling heavy. For mains, both the eye fillet and wagyu rump cap were cooked exactly to the requested doneness, with deep flavour, excellent texture, and just the right amount of smokiness from the grill. To finish, the Huon Valley Apple Tart was warm, comforting, and refined, with a lovely balance of sweetness and acidity that rounded out the meal perfectly. Overall, the experience at Landscape Restaurant & Grill was highly enjoyable, and the table left very happy with both the quality of the food and the way the menu hangs together.

We came here to celebrate my 25th birthday after searching for the best restaurants in Hobart, and Landscape was one of the top recommendations. Being big fans of SK Steak & Oyster in Brisbane, we were excited to try another fine-dining, high-end steakhouse experience while visiting Tasmania. For entrées, we ordered the kingfish sashimi and the calamari. The calamari was the hidden gem—definitely not your usual fried dish, but something elevated and full of flavour, with a chef’s creative touch. For mains, I had the Wagyu 9+ Robbins Island eye fillet ($120) and it was absolutely worth every bite—rich, juicy, and beautifully cooked. We also had the blue eye trevalla, which was tender, perfectly prepared, and paired with an incredible sauce. The green special salad made a great side, but the real standout at the end was dessert—the apple tart was the perfect final touch. The wine collection was also outstanding, as you’d expect in Tasmania. Overall, we had an amazing evening. The food, service, and atmosphere all lived up to the reputation. Be prepared to spend a little—it’s definitely on the premium side—but if you want to treat yourself to a special dining experience, this place is well worth it. Highly recommend.

Had a fantastic dinner at Landscape during a weekend in Hobart. We started with the full oyster selection — all excellent, but the smoked dashi, daikon and chilli oyster was the standout. The kingfish sashimi was also beautifully prepared and incredibly fresh. For the main, the Wagyu eye fillet was cooked perfectly, rich and tender. The duck fat chips with smoked salt and charcoal aioli were unforgettable — an absolute must-order. Service was warm and professional, the wine list is exceptional, and the whole dining experience feels refined without being pretentious. A must-visit when in Hobart. I’ll definitely return on my next trip.
